Apple has released ‘Bounce’, a commercial for their oft-overshadowed iPod and the first to hit screens since November 2011.
Reminiscent of their past advertising campaigns, the ad is simple: it features a catchy song (Willy Moon’s ‘Yeah Yeah’) with some eye-catching visuals. Multi-coloured (and multi-version) iPods bounce in time with the music, spawning new iPods in clever sequence.
The ad coincides with the release of the seventh-generation iPod Nano and the fifth-generation iPod Touch on Wednesday. With the iPhone and the iPad constantly making headlines, the iPod sometimes gets a little left behind.
While the ad may be fun, and (dare we say it) bouncy, it does bring to mind one thought: does this mean the new iPods are shatter proof? Can we too bounce them on the ground with no fear of a cracked screen?
We’ll wait and see.
